AI Together is part of Seize the Bay because learning something new after 55 is an act of Purpose and Adventure — and it can make everyday life feel easier, more confident, and more connected.
Artificial Intelligence is quickly becoming part of everyday life. It is showing up in search engines, phones, websites, email tools, travel planning, health information, customer service, and many of the services we already use.
For many people, especially adults 55+, AI can feel confusing, technical, or even intimidating.
AI Together is our way of making it practical, human, and community-based.
At Seize the Bay, we believe thriving after 55 means continuing to learn, stay curious, make good decisions, and remain engaged with the world around us. AI can support that — but only if people learn how to use it with confidence, judgment, and common sense.
AI Together is designed to help people in North Simcoe and Georgian Bay learn about AI in a friendly, approachable way.
Includes people already taught plus projected attendance for upcoming classes if full.
AI is not just for technology experts or younger generations.
Used well, it can help with everyday tasks such as:
The goal is not to let AI do our thinking for us.
The goal is to use AI as a tool that helps us ask better questions, think more clearly, and participate more confidently in a changing world.
One of the strongest ideas behind AI Together is simple:
We learn better when we learn together.
Classes are helpful, but the real value grows when people share what worked, what confused them, what surprised them, and what they want to try next.
AI Together is about more than sitting alone in front of a screen. It is about building a local learning community where neighbours, friends, and community members can explore new tools together.
That kind of shared learning fits North Simcoe well.
This region already has a strong spirit of neighbourliness, curiosity, volunteering, and people helping each other. AI gives us one more area where that community spirit can make a real difference.
AI Together will include practical resources and learning opportunities such as:
The focus is always practical.
No technical background is required. Curiosity is enough.
AI is powerful, but it is not perfect.
It can make mistakes. It can sound confident when it is wrong. It can produce answers that need to be checked. It should never replace personal judgment, professional advice, or human relationships.
That is why AI Together emphasizes:
Adults 55+ may actually bring some of the most important skills to AI learning: life experience, perspective, judgment, and the ability to question weak answers.
Those strengths matter.
AI Together connects naturally with the four Seize the Bay pillars:
AI can help people explore hobbies, plan meaningful experiences, write family stories, create travel ideas, and discover new interests.
AI can reduce frustration by helping organize information, simplify tasks, and make everyday problem-solving easier.
AI can support reflection, storytelling, volunteering, mentoring, learning, and sharing knowledge with others.
AI can make it easier to try something new — whether that means planning a trip, learning a skill, exploring a new topic, or gaining confidence with technology.
We are beginning to offer practical AI sessions for local groups, community organizations, and adults who want to better understand how AI can help in everyday life.
These sessions are designed for real people, not experts.
They use plain language, useful examples, and plenty of time for questions.

If your group, club, organization, or community would like a practical introduction to AI, we would be happy to talk.
AI Together sessions can be adapted for different audiences, including seniors’ groups, community clubs, volunteer organizations, and local learning groups.

AI is arriving quickly, but older adults do not need to be left behind. Learning together can make it practical, social, and confidence-building.
At Seize the Bay, we would rather learn together.
